Confort Cars is a small French car-accessory shop. Not a brand, not a manufacturer: a curator, who writes his own product descriptions.
Where the idea came from
Everyone has a problem with their car, and it is almost never the engine. It is the grocery bag that tips over at the first roundabout. The phone on the seat that slides to the floor at the first hard brake. The charging cable trailing between the seats. The crumbs in the child seat rails that you have no idea how you will ever get out.
These problems have solutions that cost a few euros. The trouble is finding them: they are buried among thousands of listings with unreadable titles, described in three lines of bad English, with no way of telling whether the thing will last two weeks or two years.
What we actually do
We search, we filter, we order, we try things out. Whatever passes the test ends up here with a description written by someone who has understood what the product is for — and, just as importantly, what it is not for.
We do not list a product because it sells, but because it solves something. That is why the range grows slowly.
What we are not
We have no warehouse in France. Products leave the manufacturer once you order, which is what explains our 10 to 20 day delivery — and the free shipping. It is stated before you buy: on the product page, in the banner at the top of the site, and on the page Shipping & returns. If that timescale does not suit you, far better to know now than to find out while waiting for your parcel.
Nor are we a site that manufactures urgency. You will find no fake countdown here, no "only 3 left", no invented reviews, no struck-through price that never existed. Those tactics work, but they do not survive the second order — and the second order is the one we care about.
Our commitments, in three lines
- Delivery times are stated before you buy, never discovered afterwards.
- A problem gets dealt with, not argued over : if an item is broken or not as described, we replace it or refund you, return shipping included.
- A question gets an answer, within 24 working hours, even when the answer is "this product will not fit your car".
Who is behind this
Confort Cars is run by Alexandre Prouteau, a sole trader based in the Vienne department of France. It is a one-person operation: when you write, he is the one reading.
A question, a product suggestion, a complaint? The page Contact is there for that.
